About me.

Riz Ali is a multi-media creative facilitator and arts practitioner.

Based across Greater Manchester and Calderdale. Their work spans theatre, fiction, and poetry, focusing on uplifting queer and South Asian voices through storytelling, workshops, and community engagement.

Riz’s writing has appeared in Centre Zine, Joyful Noise, Queer Mill Towns, and Transliteration. They have contributed to projects exploring heritage and decolonization, including Gut Feelings Meri Jaan by Jasleen Kaur and Queer Portraits of Rochdale.

An experienced facilitator and theatre practitioner, Riz has worked with M6 Theatre Company, the University of Salford’s New Adelphi Theatre, Touchstones and other community arts groups. As a Board Director for Breaking Barriers CIC they continue to champion intersectional storytelling and representation, dedicated to amplifying marginalised voices and fostering meaningful artistic collaborations.

Their experiences spans across working collaboratively on projects, coordinate and producing live cultural events and speak publicly to create inclusive spaces for creative expression.
